Norstone Financial Corporation is a merchant bank which invests in free-standing and fully staffed
enterprises to enable them to grow and prosper.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University and is a Chartered Accountant.
A executive and entrepreneur, Steven began his career in 1966 as Controller of the Alarm
Division of Chubb Industries in Canada where, within three years, he was promoted to Vice President and General
Manager. In 1974 he co-founded Dicon Systems (later renamed Dysys Corporation), a manufacturer
of smoke and gas alarms. |
He founded Norstone Financial in 1975 as his personal holding company; by 1995 it had grown and
evolved to become a merchant bank. |
Steven is a committed supporter of several initiatives in the fields of culture and education. He has
served on the board of governors of Holy Trinity School. He co-founded and funds the Aleksander
Duknovych Prize in Rusyn Literature and, in 2001, established the Fellowship in Rusyn Studies at the
University of Toronto. He is founder, President and chief benefactor of the World Academy of Rusyn
Culture, an organization with members in Canada, USA, EU, Ukraine and Russia. |
